✏️ April 1 – Our New Backyard Tree

I didn’t want to move. At least not until I saw the tree.

It’s huge. Way bigger than our old one in the city park. Its branches twist like dragon tails, and there’s a perfect spot in the middle for a treehouse.
I named it The Lab. Not just any treehouse—this one’s going to be a science lab, secret club, and art studio all in one.

Lily kept running in and out of the house like a squirrel. She even named a rock "Pebbly." Olivia barely talked all day. I think she misses our old place more than I do. Or maybe she’s just being Olivia.

While Mom unpacked kitchen boxes, I sat under the tree with my sketchbook. I drew the house, the driveway, and a squirrel that stared at me like I didn’t belong. But I do. At least, I want to.

Before bed, I looked at the stars.
There are way more here than in the city.
Maybe this place isn’t just quieter… maybe it’s a little bit magic, too.

✏️ 4월 1일 – 새 뒷마당 나무

엠마의 일기

이사 오기 싫었다.
그런데… 나무를 보기 전까진 말이다.

그 나무는 정말 크다.
우리가 살던 도시 공원의 나무보다 훨씬 크다.
가지들이 용의 꼬리처럼 휘어 있고, 가운데엔 딱 나무집 짓기 좋은 자리가 있었다.

나는 그 나무를 *연구소(The Lab)*라고 이름 붙였다.
단순한 나무집이 아니야.
과학 실험실이자, 비밀 클럽 하우스이자, 나만의 미술관이 될 거니까.

릴리는 다람쥐처럼 집 안팎을 뛰어다녔다.
돌멩이한테도 이름을 붙였어. “페블리(Pebbly).”
올리비아는 하루 종일 말이 거의 없었다.
아직도 옛집이 그리운 걸까?
아니면 그냥 평소의 올리비아일지도 모르지.

엄마가 부엌 짐을 정리하는 동안,
나는 나무 아래에 앉아 스케치북에 그림을 그렸다.
우리 집, 차도, 그리고 나를 뚫어지게 쳐다보던 다람쥐까지.

잘 시간 전에 하늘을 올려다봤다.
별이 도시보다 훨씬 많았다.

이곳은 단순히 조용한 게 아니야.
어쩌면… 조금은 마법 같은 곳일지도 몰라.
